Hello Karen
Thanks for your reply. I think there are likely to be two phases in the Baristador pod/capsule journey. The first involves refillable capsules for overall test checking and if that is successful, the preloading of pods/capsules for the general market.
I have learned quickly to distinguish between pods and capsules. Can you please elaborate on the ones uses in your office? Perhaps the machine brand and model number will suffice, or detail of the pods.
The Nespresso machines use capsules, which is what I have been exploring. Pods are different again and I would be very interested to know which ones you are using.
Thanks for your continued support of Baristador.
Now I feel like a coffee myself!
Yours in the spirit of espresso

I would be interested in coffee pods. My work has recently acquired a coffee machine that uses pods. I either bring in my baristador coffee and use my own plunger, or I purchase pods from my work and use those in their machine. If Baristador had pods I would buy them to take into work. I have considered purchasing a machine for home one day.
I find the pods are really fresh, and I have several friends that have changed over to useing pods at home.
Cheers, Karen

Karen

Your story from year 12 is exactly what I fear.
There is so much pressure on kids to 'be cool', mostly associated with things that start damaging their still-developing minds and bodies. If only we could break all the apathy around the conventions that allow this to continue, we might actually see what a full and healthy life can be in a generation from now.
I. too, am blessed/cursed with being a coffee snob - it is an oft-rewarding quest for pleasure when I make my own and a dismally frustrating plight when placing the responsibility in the hands of others.

Yours in the spirit of espresso

Agreed with the sentiments too, year 12 made me a caffeine addict as we had a coffee area, it was cool to drink between each lesson but year after quite a thing to cut back. No longer drink instant coffee, coffee snob and black tea.

Great article Steve, I'm still researching all this social media stuff, experimenting with hope of remembering what you've tried to teach an IT illiterate! Must however buy some of your coffee. :-)

Brett, I agree. I believe that most of us enmeshed in busy lives are not that good at being 'in the moment' and that an anticipated and enjoyed momentary treat like an espresso (or a scone, etc, as you say) does help us change gear and freshen up for the next part of the day.

It's all about focus. Your point regarding drinking times is valid, but I think it is a minor point to the argument.
The difference is whether it is enjoyed for it's own sake (be it espresso, latte, chai, a smoothie, hot buttered scone, even a pipe or cigar), or it's a drink you happen to consume while doing something else. The anticipation, distraction and satisfaction involved in mentally changing gear on a 'real' break is akin to meditation; it refreshes the mind and makes the 9-5 much more enjoyable.
